For my Project 2: Soundscape I wanted to make a song that reflects a college day student's daily routine. The song starts and ends with the cat noises to represent waking up and going to sleep. The song then follows the noises of a bong rip, toilet flushing, teeth brushing and a shower. The next segment is turning on and driving a car before arriving at class which is represented by the overwhelming keyboard noises which I felt was a good representation of how school can feel a lot of the time. Next I transitioned to an overwhelming amount of basketball shots to represent when I go play basketball in some of my daily routines.FInally the song transitions back to a car that returns home, followed by some sounds of cooking, eating, showering, teeth brushing, followed again by the cat noise that fades out loudly to quietly to represent falling asleep. Throughout the sound there are background noises that build up, followed by a bong hit that quotes them. I choose to add these moments throughout the song to represent a lot of college students' dependence on substances such as weed or like weed. The background noise building I added to represent the anxiety and stress that builds throughout the day, followed by the bong hit representing students that daily deal with this stress using substances. I choose to add a similar overwhelming noise during the keyboard part to both represent the overwhelming and large scale of university classes, but also to represent a lot of classes passing by quickly, sort of like a blur. I chose to add another overwhelming section to the song with the basketball, I did this more to represent the scale of the CU rec as you will often find the courts full and lots of balls being shot and dribbled at once.
